Overview
Due to it growing popularity, Baan Chang Elephant Park has developed from a small elephant reserve into a larger rescue and conservation centre.
A day out at this special elephant Chiang Mai sanctuary will allow you to better understand the plight of the Asian Elephant and learn how the park is recusing working and orphaned baby elephants out of exploitative circumstances such as logging camps and circuses and providing them with a much safe home meaning that they are very happy elephants Chiang Mai.
Courses and tours to the park consist of either 1, 2 & 3 day stays. All tours focus on teaching the traditional skills of a mahout or elephant caretaker. Whether on a 1 day tour or an overnight stay, each visit includes the opportunity to feed, bathe and bond with the elephants. Longer courses can incorporate knowledge of commands, communication techniques, riding bareback as well as helping out with the more routine chores that are involved in running the the elephant park. All funds generated by mahout and day-care courses are funneled back into the rescue and care of more elephants.
