The Chiang Mai photography tour will be lead by an award winning photographer with over 20 years experience travelling and working with communities around the world. The main focus is on intimate street life portraiture, getting you up closer to a human experience.
In Chiang Mai life is a wonderful theatre being played out throughout the day and night. We will visit markets away from the tourists, meet the photographer’s own personal monk at his home in one of the most spectacular temples in Chiang Mai. For architecture lovers there is a wide variety of Buddhist temples to choose from. And we’ll be visiting a Burmese refugee temple to meet the kids at its primary school.
For extravagant fashion we will meet the lady boys at Chiang Mai’s amazing Cabaret show.
If its action you want then the best way is by motorised rickshaw or red truck around the streets of the city that never sleeps.
Interested in food photography? Delicious and well presented dishes abound from the street vendors to the 5 star hotels.
For natural landscapes there is the option to leave Chiang Mai, taking a journey to a special mountain valley. Lush green in the rainy season, turns brown in the dry. We visit an elephant camp , meet local hill tribes and head to a secluded forest temple.
From the punks, and the rastafarians, to the old gentlemen with their rickshaw taxis, the faces in the markets, and the monks and their robes early in the morning gathering for assembly Chiang Mai attracts great photography.
